I believe that great freedom comes from knowledge. A thorough grounding in the technical and aesthetic elements of art is the foundation that allows the mature painter to focus on experimentation and personal pictorial goals. During my formative years, I was fortunate to find incredible mentors who offered me their knowledge and guidance. It's a pleasure and a privilege to be able to do the same for a new generation of students.
I teach a variety of classes at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA), including life drawing, constructive anatomy, head drawing, costumed drawing, painting fundamentals and long pose figure painting. For current listings and to sign up, please visit the Academy's site at www.laafa.org/classes/.
I also run private tutoring sessions from my studio in Burbank, CA. Individual sessions are tailored to each student's goals and include frequent demonstrations and critiques. For more information about private sessions, please contact me directly at email@example.com.
